Third Winchester Battlefield

The cloudiest of all battles fought in the Shenandoah Valley saw Confederate Lt. Gen. Jubal Early's command outnumbered three to one against Sheridan's 35,000-man force. Though manning a stubborn resistance and despite a stunning counterattack by the diversions of Generals Gordon and Rodes.
